Conceptual Chaos is a large, densely worked abstract that hums with restless energy. Julie Tugwell builds up the surface in broken, dappled strokes of sage, lime and powder blue, interrupted by loose black gestural lines that loop, cross and dart across the canvas like fragments of thought. Small flashes of crimson and coral punctuate the field, catching the eye as they emerge from the layered brushwork.
